The Unhappy Consumer

Strip the garland from the garbage
and the tinsel from the trash.
Take the ribbon off the rubbish
and adornment from the ash.

Lose the spangles from the sewage
 and what's gilded from the grime.
Drop the perfume from what's putrid
and the sequins from the slime.

What you're left with has no value
What you're left with has no worth.
An emporium of emptiness
A bane upon this earth.

 ---

Tchotchkes and knickknacks,
gewgaws and gimcrack;
All we want is some
value from our jack, Jack.

---

Fast food tastes like a witch's brew;
Bat and frog and lizard stew.

Summed up by some Weird Sisters jingle:
Single, single, moil and mingle;
This mess tastes like that stuff on a shingle.
